Ive said this before

Give Mavadidi a rest, move Fatawu over to left wing and bring Albrighton back on the right
I think Fatawu would be more effective on the left, has a good left foot use his speed and abilities better and can track back (don't think Mavadidi has that in him) using Albrighton has that defensive element as well

I'd certainly agree with the need to pull Mavididi for a while, there were games earlier in the season where his head would drop if it appeared the defender had got him in his pocket but his body language over recent games has suggested he is starting them in the defender's pocket. Given that he has looked stronger at the end of games recently than at the start I am not so sure whether it is tiredness or something else, either way it has not been good.

The thing about Fatawu on the left though is that I suspect he'd been even easier to play and even less effective. He has stopped going outside his man at all on the right (and when he did it earlier in the season 7 out of 10 times he was as likely to run it straight out of play and the other 3 times he'd turn back). On our left if I was a defender I'd be showing him the inside on his right all the time and if he does go outside all I would need to do is stop him rather than the ball getting into the box. At least on the right even if you know he is not going to go outside he has an option of cross, shot or pass (albeit of variable quality).

Marcal on the left surprised me at Bournemouth (in a good way) though defensively I am less sure and Albrighton whilst you would think far from having 90 minutes in him is at least willing to trust his wrong foot.

Mavididi was good at tracking back earlier in the season, well significantly better than Barnes. Seems to have run out of energy.
I think that's why Enzo likes Fatawu and Mavididi because they are both good at tracking back. Like you say something Barnes was unable to do.

Fatawu is brilliant at tracking back. Considering his size he’s a monster. Mavididi tracked back on Saturday. Ran a full 50yds before bringing down the guy for the pen. I’d personally give him a rest although they’re all going to have one in the next couple of weeks. Within the first minute last time out their FB had him worked out. He didn’t get the decisions from the ref straight away and sulked with frustration. It’s that frustration which led to their pen. He let the crowd get to him at Cov. I personally don’t get him. He’s ok but mentally very fragile.

I don't rate either Fatawu or Mavididi that highly. Compared to some others in the Championship they're bang average.
The real interest for me will come in the summer......Will we be a Premier or Championship Club, be fined, have points deducted, have to completely dismantle the squad and start again, and of course will Enzo, Rudkin, and others be around next season...
Strange times await.....
