Jeopardy

Last week there was a discussion about the atmosphere at the ground and people leaving early, and how this may be due to the lack of jeopardy - ie, we go into virtually every game expecting to win and usually succeed in doing so. Well, since then we've lost a game we expected to win and our next game will be our hardest of the season on paper. We have some tricky-looking matches after that, too. Is a little bit of jeopardy about to be introduced into our season at the final stage? If it is, at least the atmosphere should be half-decent....

The atmosphere was definitely better in the latter stages against ‘boro….
It was still nothing like what it should be

On the MOTD2 highlights, there was not a single empty seat visible as the Luton-ManU game drew to a close, as a football spectating collective we are shit

I wondered if the same has happened all over the country but no, at Leicester we have it bad. My theory would be that the euphoria of eight years ago followed by the torture and destruction under Rodgers has left us like zombies.
So many people sit expressionless and silently in the stands, it’s not right, it’s definitely not ‘across the board’ at football grounds, and ultimately could be very costly

Do you think it's an East Midlands thing? Keep your head down, mind your own business, don't get over exited, don't show your emotions?

I just think most of the fans have been spoilt. Winning the league, F A cup, European nights, two too five finishes. Domestically we have won it all. They are thinking can it get better than that.

I’m such a weirdo….. when I hear that phrase ‘two top five finishes’ I go into some sort of condition that requires anger management
‘Melton Fox’ ……I love this login/account though

Get the old uns out the Kop.
From what I can see, it’s older ones (as in 50 plus) that are more likely to be noisy.
If you mean older ones as in 80plus (sorry Kendal) then yes probably
But the worst are younger ones that sit staring at their phone, and if there’s any sign of a group of nearby blokes singing or shouting, they’re more likely to video them rather than join in

We normally sit in SK1 next to the singing section but on Saturday we upgraded to the padded seats for my Birthday and it was interesting to see hear and the atmosphere from a different prospective.
Most of this season being next to it the atmosphere has been good but from afar on Saturday the 1st half was very low key and improved a bit 2nd half
I mentioned a while back that I think the location of UFS needs changing when you look from the West stand it doesn't look right tucked away up near the corner flag, a move ( that would upset many ) to the centre of the Kop would make a big difference as either side of them would probably join in more
It pisses me of to say it ( it was their cup final) but the noise generated by the Cov corner next to us was impressive and thats what a home crowd should be doing, no doubt on Friday Leeds will be the same
I think we are all agree that something needs to change and if we get up we will need to generate a big atmosphere as home games are where you win or die in the Prem!
As for the Padded seats and good grub its nice for a once a year treat but prefer the terraces.
On a positive note great Tifo from Semper and the gang it was nice to see it instead of being in it 👍🏻

Which lounge/restaurant were you in? I'll be attending the Birmingham game in the padded seats (also a birthday gift). What were your thoughts?

There is a large amount of older fans that ideally need moving from the kop, so many that there isn't the space for them anywhere else in the ground. We have an ageing set of STs who don't want to stop going, that's what happens when you've had so many years of success.
Safe standing being introduced at the back may help but I like being towards the middle and wouldn't be happy about being forced to sit nearer the front. Not sure how the club sorts this whilst keeping all fans happy.

We were on Level 1 and sat in the main Hall. The food was good Roast Beef Yorkie Pud and other choices all help yourself one or Two made pigs of themselves!🤣
Decent pint not like the concourse piss, Colin Gibson was looking after everyone with a quiz and came around the tables spent a good 15/20mins chatting/ answering questions with us.
All the staff were very good, padded seats were good just in front on the press area with a good view.
It was interesting to see a home from a different part of the ground.
It was good apart from the result !
Enjoy Clapham 👍🏻

Did the padded seats help with your farmer Giles?

We've got shit fans, like most other east midlands teams. The majority of our fans are miserable, over weight, thick fuckers that would struggle to string a sentence together. There's no hope for a real atmosphere with these types. There's ratios to football, you can have a stand full of these fuckers, but you also need a stand full of younger, with it blokes who can sing a song and create an atmosphere. What's happened is, the ratio is out, theres way more mongs than proper football supporters so there's no chance of creating an atmosphere.

I wonder which group people would place themselves in and how that would compare to where others would place them, I'm guessing there would be a huge disparity.
Signed
A happy, slim, younger and with it fan.

Agreed. Too many who aren't prepared to make an atmosphere themselves.
Get behind the team...regardless of what is happening on the pitch.
Matchday should be exciting...fans should intimidate the opposition...
Away fans should NEVER out sing us...
We are fucking top of the league!

Where I sit in G2 you very rarely hear the away fans, and the SK1 lads and lassies sound loud 90% of the time.

Where I sit in L! you cab obviously hear the away fans,
I think the singing from the home fans in L1 is very poor.

I think that goes back to Thorney's point. The acoustics of the KP ain't the best and if they want an 'atmosphere' then they need to move people to allow for it.
