We finally reached the promised land and won the FA Cup. For some of the oldies who’d been at Wembley in 69 ( and some of the earlier ones for the real oldies) it was a moment I honestly thought I’d never see.
To actually be at Wembley that day was simply a dream come true sitting next to my dear friend who’d been with me in 74 all the way to that fateful night at Villa Park.

Sadly just 2 years to the day we’re heading into the abyss. What a bloody mess.

Some were touting the line of….

“Won the FA cup, doesn’t matter how shit we’ve become”

In actual fact, could prove to be the demise of the club

Previous manager and certain players been dining off this for two years how about the garbage that has been served up since 😀

My photo app has sent me reminders of the day this morning. My selfies make me look shit but it was “Wembley or Dead” for me after all!
You lived to bear witness to something we all thought we’d never see Chris. You did look crap mind, though with some justification 👍🦊🤠

Can you wonder at it.......l had a ticket for it but the Mrs came first would have loved l have to admit been to three so can't grumble although we lost every one

I’m assuming you remember 49 though Kendal. My grandad went to all 4 finals.

"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. If you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you."

Don't gaze into the abyss, LG! We're not done yet, my friend ;)
