Leicester City are close to appointing Jesse Marsch as their new head coach with an agreement expected in the next 24 hours.
Marsch has impressed in talks and will be charged with the task of guiding Leicester away from the Premier League's relegation zone.
Leicester sacked Brendan Rodgers last Sunday, after four years in charge, and have interviewed a number of candidates including former Aston Villa head coach Dean Smith. Martin O'Neill, the former Leicester manager, has also been discussed as a potential option internally.
Marsch is understood to have spoken with club officials on Thursday and is now on the verge of making his return to the technical area.
Sacked by Leeds in February, the American was interviewed by Southampton later that month before the deal collapsed over the proposed length of the contract.
Leicester are likely to be offering a three-year deal plus the remainder of this season.
Marsch, 49, dramatically led Leeds to safety on the final day of last season, with a victory at Brentford.
Leicester face fellow strugglers Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium on Saturday with the club in the bottom three.
Rodgers was dismissed after seven games without a win, and that run was extended on Tuesday night following the home defeat by Villa.
First-team coaches Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell will take the team for the visit of Bournemouth later today
Leicester have been in the top-flight since 2014 and won the title two years later under Claudio Ranieri.

I can only think that King Power have an enormous project they are about to unveil in Russia and that Susan Whelan has just become a grandmother to triplets

…..,oh yeah, Leicester City 🤔

One thing is for sure that we can't carry on like we are doing, we definitely need a change of direction and this guy can't be any worse than the shit being served up at the moment. Something has to change relegation or not so why not him? I know he wasn't great at Leeds but maybe it's a learning curve tbh you'd be hard pushed to find a manager who hasn't been sacked at sometime, nobody was excited by claudios appointment and nigel Pearson is still referred to as nfp on this board because of the excitement that filled everyone on his appointment
