l don't agree with this as its divisive but so is this "Pride" bull shit.
 
It was a term that Thom Higgins came up with in 1971.
To counter the Catholic Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, who had called gay self-pride sinful.
 
I still do not get it after all these years and none of old gay friends can simplify it for me I've argued over this for years still can't get a answer how someone can love another man l can live with friendships but sexually cannot get it ...my friend were great very pally But still the ideal revolts me
 
just re-read this thread again because Tuz not Tuz as decided to be a grass (again?). l see nothing wrong in this, l was asking why the word "Pride" was used, meaning the reason. Sixth actually said something that gave a clue, but l don't feel its the true reason. That's my opinion.

Memories of a street blocked. Blasting out electro music that disturbed the local elderly people.
Float went by with loads of people showing off asses in buttless, pants. Men squeezing their chests together trying to make it look like breasts.
I thought, who cares.
All the whistles made it seem insane.
Managed to get through and on my way home eventually.
Got home and Gay neighbor was complaining about these 'fucking assholes who ruining everything.'
He especially didn't like seeing the news report of some woman who had a man on all fours, on a leash and dog collar in rubber shorts parading through the neighborhood.

I saw a lot of gay people trying to walk the parade and be dignified. Others just wanted to shock and live out their sex hobby fantasies.
