Brauny

The optimistic pessimist
Shouldn't even be a debate after having a double digit cushion, but here we are sweating on the team picking itself up and somehow fending off our rivals

I still think Champions but have a nagging doubt that Norwich will do us in the play off semis.

Imagining SKY bed wetting themselves over the prospect of an East Anglian Derby in the final.

This is why this league is one of the most difficult to get out of because any team can beat anyone. Maybe why they say it's one of the most exciting leagues. It was never going to be a cakewalk.

It should have been a cakewalk from such a commanding position but....

Ipswich x 2
Coventry
Boro
Leeds
QPR

....are all recent games where we have either played poorly, conceded late goals and thrown points away, or just not had the character to fight back.
I still think it's a mentally weak team that can't handle pressurised situations.

That insecurity at the back stems back for a few seasons now.

You can add Sheffield Wednesday away to that list. I know that was last year but it was a late equaliser.

So you've changed your tune.
It's only about a week ago that you were declaring to anyone fucking stupid enough to listen to you that we were going up as champions without a doubt.

Wrong- we were cakewalking just fine with a 17point cushion

Now we’re faacked

So far

58.3% for Promotion
41.7 for it to end in failure.

If it goes wrong against Sunderland we are still likely to be top but clinging on by our fingernails.

It's all just so Leicester isn't it ?

Apparently no team in the last thirty years been promoted that have lost three games on the bounce
Four tomorrow should probably seal it then 😀

No points gained from losing positions is a damning statistic. Those losing positions are happening a lot more often so it's a no from me.

But we still have the second best defensive record in the this league.

Our fault lies with not being able to put games to bed when we are well in control and should be out of sight before the inevitable late goal arrives.

We miss too many chances and lack a killer instinct, there seems to be a mindset of we're 1-0 up and can hang on to this with our passing it around a the back, when in fact we should be going for the kill as the game will have opened up due to the oppo having to take more risks.

Seems to be borderline arrogance to me which probably stems from the managers stubbornness and inexperience.

But. that's just my opinion :)

Those that don't want to believe that this season is going to end in one big fuck up will look like a man that has just farted himself awake in the cinema when reality happens. Forever remembered for the biggest bottling job in second tier history and a major piss take from opposition fans for years to come "top of the league and you fucked it up" will be the regular taunt. Of course this is the nightmare scenario, just maybe they might just might get another 7 wins and remain unbeaten and we can all enjoy the summer.

Think we’ll just about stumble over the line. Wasn’t that long ago people were talking about us getting 110+ points 😳

play off losers, we will be out of the top 2 by the time we play Chelsea in the cup, and unless Wilf coming back turns it around we are struggling

Not looking too good is it at the moment with possible points deduction for next year, playing a bit Spursy, having no money due to FFP and nearly half the teams contracts running out at the end of the season, you could argue that my cup is definitely half empty.
