The guy who interviews Brendan on RL post match is ridiculous .
His “ questions“ go on for about 5 minutes and he supplies the “answers “ as well .
It goes something like this

Well Brendan you must be really pleased with the way you pressed them today . I suppose that was the game plan and you must be pleased how well it worked . You never gave them
time in the ball and Soumare had his best game today helping Youri Tielemans to get forward more and Maddison to play his best game too. You must be pleased Daka got his first goal and Vardy was still closing down in the 95th minutes
What was your reaction to all that ?

Rather than .
What was the game plan today ?

Where do they find these clowns ?

I thought exactly that myself when I heard it whilst driving home from the match. They are lucky enough to get an exclusive interview & waste it completely. I'm afraid that Radio Leicester gets worse by the day

Foxgolfer I totally agree. In the post match RL session, he can ask Piper the same question with the same answer in 5 different ways. It is infuriating, you just sit there saying you have only just asked him the same question in a different way. He will very often tell you the obvious answer during the long drawn out question.

I seem to remember Pearson saying once .
“Is that a question” ? to a similarly waffling hapless RL interview

Feck all about City when we tuned in at about 5.15, Tigers, basketball & 3 minutes of Rodgers at 5.57.

I agree entirely ... although I think if the second question to Rodgers was ‘Where do they get these clowns’ he probably would edge around giving the straight answer ‘Well they bought one of them from us’. 😉

It's from the Stringer school of interviewing. Basically he asks a question and then guides the answer from the expert.
This is so he makes it clear he knows the answer but so that the daft sods listening will appreciate that he asks for confirmation.
Why not just say what was your impression today Brendan?
When the technique was applied to NP, allied to the stress he (NP) was under it got somewhat unprofessional in the end....

Re IS, am I the only one who thinks 'he is taking a little bit of time' just adds to the mystery?
I am not a fan as most on here know but wish him no harm. If he's poorly, why not say so? It's nothing to be ashamed of.

I’m not sure about adding to the mystery - I think taking time out tells us something has got on top of him and he needs a break ... could be too much work, could be personal pressure at home, could be something he needs to work out mentally. Also tells us he hasn’t been sacked ... and his employer can’t really set out to the world and his dog what his personal position is especially if it’s a health issue. Only IS can tell us that when he’s ready and he thinks it’s necessary.
