The latest from The Fosse Way

So it was Rodgers massive ego!! Or iversen,
Vardy,
Soyuncu,
I really hope word gets around the football network, and it will!!!! and
The bstd end's up like Taylor.
I really hate him for this and the lies and disregard he has for our club.

A pretty good piece, as always. But one judgement stood out from all the rest, and really got up my goat.

‘Unfortunately, there are still massive problems with this football team and we can only blame Brendan Rodgers and the board for so long.’

WTF! Rodgers systematically dismantled this club over a season and a half (and more). True, we may not recover sufficientlythis season. But in the light of what’s happened before, it’s unfair to start saddling the new management team with the blame, and especially not this early in the fightback.

This morning I received a message from a friend in Liverpool who wanted to know why Vardy didn't take the penalty (I think he really wanted us to beat Everton). He was full of praise about Soyuncu and Iversen, and was curious to know why they'd been on the bench for most of the season.

We had a back and forth chat about Rodgers and he was saying that towards the end of his time at Anfield, Rodgers basically went a bit mad and was trying to force certain players out of the door when they were clearly still the best available in their positions. The atmosphere in the dressing room soured and everything started to disintegrate. It took Klopp a little while to sort out the mess.

Whoever takes our job permanently will have the opportunity to create something new given the number of players leaving. Unfortunately he won't have the resources that Klopp had. Let's hope our scouting team comes up with some gems.
