There was a time when…

UEFA didn’t allow league games to be played at the same time as Champions League games, presumably to not detract from their premier club tournament.

When did that end?

Funnily enough I said exactly the same thing yesterday.
Not sure when it ended but with the ever increasing schedule I think EUFA have had to relax their ruling.
Man City V Brentford was cancelled when they were at the FIFA World club Tournament
Liverpool V Luton brought forward as Liverpool are in The LC Final
Chelsea should play Spuds this weekend not sure when that will be played.

Very good point. This season, I'd say?
I also wasn't aware that clubs in the EL and ECL don't have to rename their grounds and cover all non-uefa sponsors for the three days around matches, like they still insist on in the CL.

Noticeable though that both the English games very unusually kicked off at 7.30, surprised that uefa didn't make them kick off at 5.00 so that it didn't overlap their precious Champions League.
I think there were a couple of games recently in Spain & Italy on the same night as CL games & they had both finished before the CL games kicked off
