I’ve just seen the end of the Villa game. It pisses me right off that they’ve become the side mixing it at the top that we were so recently.
 
My Villa ST holder friend has said on numerous occasions that Dick completely changed the whole club. Before with the scallie in charge they were totally disorganised, the tactics were woeful and really good players looked lost. ( her words). Remind you of anyone?

I’ll never ever work out why the LCFC hierarchy let TCR last so long. Oh well. Forza Enzo

There are intelligent people on this board that were completely convinced by Rodgers, defending him to the last……
Taking that as a measure, possibly answers the question, a Whelan and a Rudkin being partially convinced by Rodgers bullshit and partially afraid of the financial consequences of binning him.
Judging by the vitriol a couple of us received when screaming “this bloke’s a fraudulent cunt” I would say that it wasn’t obvious to everyone

Are you saying that the hierarchy at the club knew best when retaining Rodgers long after some fans wanted him gone?
Of course you are right the fans can’t hope to know the inner workings of a corporate organisation, and only act on gut instinct and what they witness on the pitch
 
I’d suggest the “intellectual” people on here who were watching the football under him for those last 18+ months & were still backing him have been given the same benefit of the doubt as the fraud was.
 
We have only cold hard facts of watching 90 mins of a game but even the blinkered ones should/could have seen something was wrong there for quite a while, the body language and attitudes showed the whole sorry mess but we have no say in the running of the club or its inner workings but gut instincts should have given an insight as to our ongoing demise

I usually cite that match has a huge example of the incompetent management.
No discipline, no plan, allowed a total shambles to occur instead of defeating the worst opposition in the league at that time.
That’s the one.
 
What is so infuriating is that Villa aren't actually very good. It did occur to me, in the context of the "they twisted, we stuck" argument is that had we twisted at the same time as they did, we would not have got Enzo. But literally anyone would have done a better job than TCR. If, and I say if, we go up this time I hope that F*r*st aren't still there, but if they are I hope we have a management that understands the significance of the fixture to the fans. Bournemouth was indeed bad, thank you Maddison, but for me the rot set in after the Cup defeat / humiliation.
 
Villa were going down with Gerrard.
They did something about it, the 4 mill compensation they spent is now looking like peanuts.
Bournemouth was also the game for me, I'll admit I didn't see it till then. We went down that day, listless performance.
Rodgers lost the dressing room when he said the whole squad needed a refresh. What a great way to motivate players in that squad. " You're not good enough lads".
Once he said that he should have collected his P45.
If love to know what hold he had over the club for them not to sack him.

I’m sick of listening to these so called experts. With Sky, BBC,TNT, Radio 5 live, Talkshite etc it’s now become a plethora of these idiots telling us, the regular fans, that we know nothing. Last season most didn’t even watch one game of ours yet told us we were ‘lucky’ to have TCR. I nearly burst a blood vessel listening to their shîte. They are literally stealing a living.

As for the managers, like cream, they usually rise to the top. The rest bob around trying to manage. Lampard, Gerrard, TCR haven’t got a clue. They’ve been found out
