He asked for it and the club sanctioned it due to his serviceI'm not convinced this is a good move by the club. Albrighton has, to the best of my knowledge, always been a consummate professional behind the scenes and a thoroughly positive influence not the least on the younger players.
I'm obviously not privy to the exact details why this has happened, where the initiative for the loan move has come from and what has been said by who but I feel it might be a mistake letting such a reliable player and influence go.
With Maddison and Ricardo fit as well as Tete and Praet, Perez and Albrighton would be be 5th and 6th choice.I also suspect it's wage bill related. By hook or crook the club would need to free up space on the wage bill (and the 25 man squad) for the 3 new players. So any offers for squad players would have been considered.
Just unfortunate that the only two we got out the door were both from same position.
Agreed. With Maddison and Ricardo fit as well as Tete and Praet, Perez and Albrighton would be be 5th and 6th choice.
Are you privy to any inside information from the club to state this with such certainty? He asked for it and the club sanctioned it due to his service
To get away from a screaming baby and a hormonal wife.........i bloody would!Vestegaard has been poor, but in this instance, his missus is about to give birth.
In your jobs, how many of you would disappear for 24 hours to look at a job and then go on secondment to a different country for 4 months?
i know there's a difference, and that reflects on our twat of a manager. Not blaming the player at all.The difference is that Albrighton wanted to go, because he wants to play. Vestergaard apparently could care less.
i would like to add, after living on 4 hours sleep a night with a 4 hour daily commute to/from work where i have no idea how i didn't die in a fiery car crash after our first was born, i made damn sure for the second i stayed well away. slept in a different room and fucked off to work out the back door at 5:30am every day to avoid any baby stuff. To get away from a screaming baby and a hormonal wife.........i bloody would!
If we were as bad at our jobs as he is at his we’d have been fucked off a year agoVestegaard has been poor, but in this instance, his missus is about to give birth.

That, and maybe, he thought he could help by taking a little bit off the wage bill at the same time. I'd like to think its the kind of thing he'd do.The difference is that Albrighton wanted to go, because he wants to play.
Bet we'll never know how little of his wages are being paid by the baggies. That, and maybe, he thought he could help by taking a little bit off the wage bill at the same time. I'd like to think its the kind of thing he'd do.
He said something about his kids going to watch him play every week so he wanted to actually play more often, rather than getting splinters in his arse.Albrighton was probably told he could go when we thought we were getting Harrison. And either Albrighton had already signed when Leeds pulled the plug, or we didn’t have the heart to scupper it for him.
I’m not doubting Albrighton’s desire for first team football. I’m just not convinced that allowing him to go and leaving us very thin in wide areas was the wisest move.He said something about his kids going to watch him play every week so he wanted to actually play more often, rather than getting splinters in his arse.
I’m all for treating our legends with respect, but I think allowing Schmeichel to leave without a replacement has backfired. Let’s hope the same doesn’t happen with Albrighton.Like I just said on another thread, Leeds blocked the Harrison move at the 11th hour as they couldn’t get a replacement signed. We just let Albrighton go no questions asked.
It’s comedy gold really.
They must be close to the limit as regards wages and FFP, plus keeping the squad to 25.I’m all for treating our legends with respect, but I think allowing Schmeichel to leave without a replacement has backfired. Let’s hope the same doesn’t happen with Albrighton.

Widely reported by reasonable sources on TwitterAre you privy to any inside information from the club to state this with such certainty?
At the start of the season they spoke of needing to balance the books with transfers, if true then from an FFP perspective I think they were still some way off the limit because of the Fofana deal (even taking into account the sell on fee) and another deal would have been possible. They must be close to the limit as regards wages and FFP, plus keeping the squad to 25.
It sounds indeed like the initative was coming from Albrighton himself. I hadn't seen that before.Widely reported by reasonable sources on Twitter
As others have stated already, I suppose it is understandable from his point of view but I still feel it might turn out a mistake to let such an experienced and dependable player go while others prefer to get splinters into their backside."It was on and off and on and off," [Albrighton] said. "It was only a few days before the window closed that I heard of the interest from Albion and I'd already had the conversation with the manager at Leicester at the start of the month when the window opened.
"I was probably in a comfort zone at Leicester. Having so many friends there it can feel quite comfortable, but I knew I needed a new challenge.
"I told him I wanted more first-team football between now and the end of season. He fully understood and has helped this deal come about."
Took a look at this as the figure that is always quoted as being over 100% always seems a bit bogus because it related to the 2019/2020 season (1st COVID season) when whilst some player bonuses were deferred to the following season so was a substantial chunk of revenue. Looks like it is based on someone's analysis of the Deloitte Football Money League (though it quotes 105% for the season in question). The latest of which shows the following for us:Wage bill reduced to 85% from >110% of turnover, apparently...
