I think the key is as a club we couldn’t win today. Had we won they’d have talked about Liverpools injuries. Losing and it’s a ‘gulf in class’. You can’t sit deep and counter against a team with that much pace up against Albrighton, Fuchs and Evans. We needed to be more offensive but that despite the Brendan myth isn’t the way he sets up for any game. Now counter/low block worked against a bang average Arsenal but Liverpool are a completely different team.

Robertson doesn’t tear the arse out of Ricardo but will Albrighton. Cags isn’t beaten countlessly in the channels as Fuchs is. Ndidi makes defensive aerial clearances. Liverpools strengths murdered our weaknesses. Sadly.
 
Maddison showed more in the last 20mins when in his more natural position.

We've got a problem with him in that we've done well with a 3-4-3 formation, but that leaves Maddison playing out wide, out of position, and ineffective.
 
Tielemans and the boys have been outstanding in the last few games but not tonight it seems.... It happens.
 
gone off Madders a bit - Greasy, Foden and the like quite a way ahead of him now.
Oh, and they can win as much as they like, but anyone who has Gerry and the Pacemakers / songs from the musicals as a theme song is seriously lacking in cool.
And Mane seems to lack a certain joie de vivre.
so all in all - sod 'em.
