Anyone going today from or through Sheffield?

Just on the off chance.
My lad is trying to get to Swansea from Leeds. He’s only got as far as Sheffield and trains are cancelled. He’s waiting to see if one at 9 something is running, though the 2 previous have been cancelled.
Is anyone going from oop North in a motor that could pick him up ?

Looking at The Trainline there’s nothing going south of Sheffield. Next train is to Stockport then down to Swansea but doesn’t arrive till almost 4pm.

Hire a car or go drinking down Kelham Island is my suggestion.

Yes bloody nightmare today. My train from Reading cancelled. Now having to go via Bristol. That train is delayed so probably going to miss my connection. Instead of getting into Swansea at 1230 it’ll now be 2.30. Great!

One of the reasons I gave up my Season Ticket was the difficulties in travel from West Yorkshire to and from home games at weekends. Wandering round Sheffield when connections blobbed. How folk like Feckit manage I have no idea.

Maybe best to cut your losses aint it LG. Your chances of getting there in time dont look great ☹️

Getting back seems ok for some reason.

They’re going to hold the Swansea train at Bristol so we make the connection. Yeh right and TCR told us he was an elite manager!

My wife thinks I’m mad. I’m starting to think she has a point

I’ve given up. Got to Bristol and most trains from Cardiff to Swansea cancelled. Best I could have done was to see the last 30 mins and possibly not got home. £80 down the Swanee

I took me 7hrs to get back to Leicester by road yesterday from Winchester, so I can empathise with those who are travelling today by whatever means.

Left Leicester on the 8.16 to Birmingham expecting to arrive in Swansea at 12.30.
On the train we were told that all trains South of Brum were cancelled but there was a 9.22 train to Shrewsbury where we could pick up a direct train to Swansea at 10.40 arriving at 14.00.
A 2 carriage train and standing all the way to Newport. Arrived in Swansea 14.25.
Taxi up to the ground. 3-1, job done.
Now for getting home.
17.28 meant leaving the game early. Sod that.
18.22 but connections to Brum at Newport and Bristol Parkway were cancelled so stayed on to Paddington arriving 21.12.
Quick scoot across to St Pancras for the 21.46 to Leicester arriving London Road 23.32.
Things we do for footy.
Heard of several City fans who got taxis to the game from Bristol and Newport.
Cov fans from Hinckley on train to Brum went back home from Brum to drive down to Bristol.

Woke up satdi morning to a right kerfuffel!! Phone calls from hackney, messages from the trainline and people driving from Leicester. Asked where they were in the car (anywhere near Brizzle?). They kindly pulled off the motorway at Jct16 and picked me up. In the pub in Swansea for 1150.
Don't know what all the fuss was about! ;)

Did that 1822 reach Brizzle Parkway? That was the one I was booked on.
