Anyone else thinks that Stokes declaration at 393/8 in the first test cost us a winning start in the Ashes and allowed the Aussies fight back and go 1-0 in the series. When you've got the Aussies were you want them, you have to finish them off, they always fight back its in their DNA. They are methodical in their batting and just go through the gears, Lyons and Cummings are the best in their bowling attack. The Aussies are taking the piss and will have the series won in 3, prediction 4-1 Ashes win.
 
There were loads of reasons why we lost the first test match. The declaration at that precise point of the game with Root in and set, and scoring for fun on a hot day and a good batting wicket, was top of the list. Bat till close and declare in the morning when it felt like a good day to bowl.

Bairstow’s missed catches was second.
 
That declaration was truly awful and deep down Stokes will know it was a mistake no matter what his public ramblings on it are.
My prediction for close of play score today Aus 453 all out Eng 183-5 and it'll be a long way back from there.
 
The Kiwi twins fucked up big time, they wanted to rub the Aussies noses in the dirt, basically to take the piss. by 7.00pm this evening the Ashes could be lost
 
Fucking rubbish. It’s alright saying you are going to entertain but what would really be entertaining would be grinding the aussies into the dirt, they should have played the short ball a lot better , sway out of the way or duck, they would have soon got fed up with it and would have knackered themselves.
Lyon out as well, another wonderful opportunity squandered through pig headed stubbornness to play”our” way.
The Aussies will be laughing their socks off.
 
Well that's Bazball well and truly exposed for what it is. Looked great against more modest opposition but it's never going to work against these.
Australia have calmly and effectively dismantled and destroyed this new found concept.
They play proper Test cricket whilst England totally forgot that you can't play a sustained one day game in a Test match against top quality bowling.
The Ashes are practically done and dusted. I hope England get back to playing more sensible stuff.
 
Was Pointing spouting bollocks about that Starc catch? If you run the ball along the ground then it's not out is it?
Much as I dislike Smith he had his fingers under the ball for his effort even if he juggled it afterwards it was held to his chest.

I suppose they feel that stokes is starting to take the game away from them england would have done the same if it was on the other foot.i personally think England will win from here

Looks a long tail in England's batting. Once Broad comes in it really opens up for the Aussies.
I know he hung around today but that partnership was down to Stokes's brilliance.
England are not a long way off, but they need to reign in Bazball in the crucial periods of the game. There is a time place for it, imo it should only be deployed when England have a stronghold on the game.
The Ashes are pretty much done and dusted, but I am sure we can land some blows before the series finishes

By the rules they didn't cheat, they just didn't enter into the spirit of the game.
There are many examples of it.
Broad himself was hated in Australia by failing to walk when he clearly nicked the ball.
Recently in a big women's game ( possibly world cup ) the English woman was mankhaded by an Indian player which cost them the game.
You can argue whether it was right or wrong but imo it comes down to how ruthless you want to be in order to win.
When the Aussies walk out at Headingley they won't give a fuck about it. They know they are on the verge of creating their own history. The first Aussie touring team to win here for two decades.
Do you think they will give a fuck about today when they on the plane home with the Ashes ?
If England can learn anything from it then surely it will be for them to have no sentiment and be as equally unsympathetic and ruthless in the future.
 
I can well imagine that Aussies couldn’t give a fuck about anyone or anything. Utterly classless. Smith and Warner should have had life bans for ball tampering. Cunts.
