Athens

Had the game in Athens been the second or third game I would have gone anyway for the heck of it. I want to visit the city and I want to go to a game in Greece at some time in my life.

I can’t take leave this week though and I can’t afford to self isolate on my return from Ukraine or Portugal. My company demands 2 weeks unpaid or take it as leave even though I can work from home.

If the rules for Portugal change I’ll book a flight to Porto.

Hertsfox & I will be on parade.:cool: You never know, we may with a bit of stealth, actually get in.

Our favourite landlord, having persuaded us to book ridiculously early am flights has had to cry off. Soho! Put him on the caants list.

I believe another roofer is orf too, so there should be a neat little gang assembling.

BLUE ARMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think its absolutely awesome that Bruin and Hertsfox are planning to be in Athens for the Thursday game. Fair play to you both.
And since Mickey created this new site I seem to have lost the caants list and no reason to add to it.
I wouldn't want to put our pub landlord on it anyway - because he would stop sending me his stream of funnies on Whatsapp which brighten up the day.
Anyway - a big up to Bruin and Hertsfox. Enjoy! And give us a wave!!!

Fair play to the pair of you for going. If you get in to the game you could live on that story forever. Will be interested to hear how you get on.

To add to channy's squad, our net-minder is 'Son of Pitta'.

Mrs wints and I are out on the same flight as Bruin and Herts, but staying until Saturday. Yesterday, Mrs wints had a delivery from Next. The driver saw my city training top and commented that he was going out with four of his mates.

  • Anyone entering Greece may be asked to undergo a test for COVID-19, and required to quarantine in an accommodation provided by the Greek authorities, until advised otherwise.

Good luck all. Doesn't say if there's a telly though... ;)

Absolutely brilliant, Wints!!!
The streets round the Plaka Market used to be very buzzy back in the 60s.
Pireus used to be fun.
The Parthenon floor was my hotel room for about 3 nights even though climbing the Acropolis in the dark was a bit hairy. Great view in the morning watching the sun come up.

If you get approached by local Police, don't forget to ask them "don't you know who I am???" that always goes down well
