Away tickets

One point about last nights match is the number of empty seats there were in the away end. I can’t understand why tickets don’t go on sale to the general public that have a ticket buying history with the club. I’m not saying I would have been there (on eldest daughters birthday) but would certainly be interested in away tickets in the future. Got to be better having a grumpy old git in the crowd than having empty seats.

Just noticed that our allocation for Liverpool away has been vastly reduced to 2500.
Why ???
Slow uptake so the club sent the excess back. Same old story. Barely give people a chance and they’re desperate not to lose a few quid or god forbid let general sale people in.

Allocated 2800 for Southampton on Friday night according to Leices Police Twitter we took 1900!
The problem is we dont do general sales, thought I would look ( sad fooker) at the Ipswich site as they are there on Wednesday with a similar long journey and they have sold out but they put tickets on general sale after members,ST holders

That away end holds over 3,000 it looked more than 1900

Slow sales. It's obvious to anyone but the ticket office that we wouldn't sell 5000 at nearly £30 a pop for an early round League Cup game.
£15 we would've done.

Have they done any of the having to pick your away tickets at the ground nonsense this season which I alluded to in an earlier post? I haven’t heard of any.

Must admit I am not aware of it, nobody I know has had to though I seem to recall a strong indication they were intending to do so.

The tickets don’t even go on sale to members until tomorrow, you would have thought that they would have waited until at least then to decide whether to send some back.

Yep. Its ridiculous. Should give it a chance and if there’s a few hundred empty seats again so be it. Doubt there’d be many empty at all if they let it run all the way to general sale.

Bout £40 I think
Expensive if you’re only intending on going to one game but if it then gives you the option of going to a number of games why not pay it?
Couple of games I’ve got tickets and then not been able to make it. I could sell on FT but don’t want my name name linked to some of idiots that fo rock up. Can see why the club want to try and control who they are selling tickets to.

As has been said, an initial slow uptake is a good sign that this isn’t going to sell very well & beens as it was going to be 5,500 we clearly wouldn’t get anywhere near it.
4 away games in 16 days, 3 of which were/are weekdays are a big factor.

I’m not surprised that the uptake is slow, what I am surprised about is,the fact that they sent so many tickets back before they went on sale to members. There must be quite a few members who haven’t been able to get tickets for league games because of the smaller allocation and would have been eligible for the larger allocation.

I don't understand the thinking behind not allowing it to go to general sale. Are they that desperate they want to sell a few thousand memberships at £35 a go? Small change really.

Have you seen the behaviour of some of them, as Daggers says it’s about the club wanting control and having some idea of who purchased a ticket.
Short sighted view though.

You’re 100% correct. The behaviour of a small minority is out of order. At Villa last season we were in with a right load of idiots. Had my jacket burnt by a flare being thrown at me.
