Leitch designed the Kop. Don't know who designed the Crumbie stand.on the way home today from LRI walked up the side of crumbie stand , its called aylestone walk , i never knew that, never been in the ground for a first class match, been past it literally 1000's times - anyway certain parts of the facing brickwork looked just like filbo kop. Obviously not as big or imposing , but what came first us or them and was it the same builders ? just interested.
No he didn't, W J Cearns of Stratford designed and built the kop/double deckerLeitch designed the Kop. Don't know who designed the Crumbie stand.
Pratt Truss Girders were commonplace in the 30s, They were mainly used by LMS railway. Leitch used Pratt Girders and so did Cearns. This is a Pratt Truss Girder on a signal gantry and also the Double DeckerI thought Leitch always put his signature triangular feature on the roof line of the stands he designed? Iāve never delved that deeply into it before to know if there were any without this feature.
the memories from a kid that spring to mind from this photo !Pratt Truss Girders were commonplace in the 30s, They were mainly used by LMS railway. Leitch used Pratt Girders and so did Cearns. This is a Pratt Truss Girder on a signal gantry and also the Double Decker

First time l was ever on the telly, the Leicester got a consolation goal against Everton in the cup in '68 l ran on the pitch. I can remember hoping me mam didn't see me incase she wouldn't let me go again, she didn't ! That same game there's a photo of me after being knocked off the top front wall on the front of the book, Got, Not Got or the other one in a shitty brown anorak. The same shitty anorak that l had to put on inside out in the middle of Nottingham at my first away game because it had Leicester transfers stuck all over it.
