County v Sussex

I’m going to make an appearance at Grace Road this weekend to watch us pit our wits against Sussex.

I also intend to give Steve Smith a bit of grief at his sandpaper antics.

It looks like the weather may intervene again on Sunday but Saturday looks a decent day at the minute.

All welcome.

My latest weather update:
Thur NO PLAY
Fri NO PLAY
Sat A Chance of a dry day but the outfield will be sodden
Sun NO PLAY

Sunday might be futile but Saturday looks decent enough. Even if it’s another draw it’ll be good to have a relaxing day.

I need to come up anyway to do a few bits and catch up with some people. Sky kind of fucked up a decent weekend planned when they moved the game to Monday night.

The word around the campfire is that any more rain then this match is heading for no play draw, 5pts I think

doesn't really matter, it's all about getting some batting points before an inevitable draw.

we are a bowler or two short tho.

250/8 - 30 needed to avoid the follow on. Thanks again due to Chris Wright showing the batters how it is done,

Interesting day in prospect tomorrow

I’ve had a great day today. It’s a pretty slow outfield. We didn’t really ever get a partnership going. 15 more to avoid the follow on.

It’s free admission tomorrow with a City season ticket. Might need to enter through the Bennett End entrance.

Still remain unbeaten in the CC. Mulder and Patel both scored tons, the former basically saved the game with a fine 99 unbeaten stand with Scriven for the 7th wicket. The first day washout spoiled the game. On to Worcester with the prospect of some dry weather in the offing

Shame they lost the first day, the way County recovered Sussex would of been under pressure in their second innings.

I’ve had a bloody enjoyable two days down there.

I was very surprised by Sussex at the end. They could have and should have taken the new ball and maybe the remaining four wickets would have tumbled quickly. 150 target in 15 overs is a tall order but surely worth going for?

Instead they decided to shake on the draw.

10 an over?? when you can put all your fielders on the boundary, totally the correct decision,

Have you not seen the catch he took Daggers to get Ahmed out 2nd innings?

If a day hadn't been taken out we may have set a decent wobbly target the way Mulder and Scriven were going.

Yes I did I was sat in front of The Meet. One decent catch in three days cricket is hardly impressive though.

And I agree one more day and who knows. I was pleased with how we battled for the draw. We have some spirit about us this season and I think we’ll win again.
