Covid enquiry

The Baroness Mone OBE,Scottish businesswoman and Conservative Life Peer. Started the Ultimo Lingerie Company and other ventures including “weight loss pills” and “fake tans”. It was found out subsequently that herself and family had profited from “secret” payments of £29million for Government contracts to supply PPE equipment, which she had “lobbied” for during COVID. Calling this hastily formed company PPE MedPro.
Currently she is on “leave of absence” from the Upper House “to clear her name”.
In an astonishing act of irony the Government that gave her the contract in the first place is now in the process of sueing PPE MedPro for £122million plus costs following Standards Commission and National Crime Agency investigations!

Unless there's some detail missing, the govt suing shouldn't act as a distraction - the whole point of getting to the bottom of this is identifying who gave the order to them in the first place & if anyone within the govt financially benefited from the transaction.

It feels like it needs someone independent to look into it, otherwise all sorts could get covered up.

I think the questions need to go deeper. A number of businesses have come forward who had experiences in PPE had offered their services at cost yet were ignored.
One simple question needs to be asked. Why were those businesses ignored?
That subject will be covered later in the enquiry and probably after the next election, conveniently!

Would you sooner they didn’t look into how, why mistakes were made in the hope that we deal with it better the next it happens, which it will?

Disaster capitalism at its finest...
Slap on the wrist for "mistakes" and some uncaring words.
Money stays in accounts offshore.
Appeal to stupid people about some boats and possibly win another election.
Lose the election, blame the new actors for everything being shite.
The Man still wins...

You forgot “Lessons have been learnt”.

It’s one word beyond the usual three words that most people are able to digest, but it’ll still be easily swallowed.

They should do a thorough job for sure but how long does it take to interview a few people then digest the findings before preparing a report?

They knew about COVID as early as November, Taiwanese spies, double agents and satellite photos, they just cared more about money than people ,they were still letting people from infected countries including China fly into Heathrow in February.
