Totally forgot about him, apparently he's retired today and plenty on Leicester 'X' (Twitter) seem to be classing him as a Leicester legend.

Little lacking in self respect, that.

No one thought Wes's goal had won the league. Everyone knew that Hazard's had.they Especially when Spuds completely imploded after it went in.

You're somewhat missing the point here, had the games been played at the same time we would never discuss the goal from another game as being the winner, it would have been Wes's equaliser that gained us the point that won us the league at Old Trafford.
This must be one of the few goals in football history that is remembered as a title decider when it didn't include the side that gained from it.

Just asking like...can anyone remember what sparked the celebration at Vardy's House? Wasn't it Hazard's goal ?

No, the referee blowing the final whistle in the Chelsea v Tottenham game (in which Hazard did indeed score).

The point is that it is part of a false narrative whereby Leicester didn't win the League (and indeed not even that Tottenham lost the League) but that Chelsea won it for Leicester (forgetting the 35/36 games that had gone before). That the wider football world succumbs to this laziness is one thing, that so many Leicester fans do is fucking crap.

Don't get me wrong, terrific night, one of the best but it didn't define the season in which we won it.

Correct. However the Everton game would not have been the amazing spectacle that it was without Hazard’s goal and for that reason I hold it in high regard.

Plus I celebrated with Bruin along with many cockney roofers and honorary roofer Nigel, that night. That time with Bobby is a really fond memory.

RIP.

I was confident we could beat Everton at home so the Chelsea v Spurs game was not uber crucial but obviously made life easier. If we are going to credit any other team and player for helping us it would be WBA and was it Dawson for their draw at WHL just after we had dropped two points against WHU thanks to Jon Moss.

We didn't win the league by 1 or 2 points, we won it by 10.
After August, we were consistent, other teams made a run every now and again but fell away, we didn't.
Even if spurs had won their last 5 games they still would've been 1 pt short.
As BNB says it's a lazy press, nobody wanted to give us our due as being the best and most consistent team that season. We were lucky with injuries, we didn't have europe or domestic cup runs to deal with, or any number of other stupid reasons the talking heads came up with to cement the lie that it was because the 'big' teams were off their game that make it more of a fairytale rather than us being brilliant and better than everybody else.

All I know is it made Saturday into THE greatest ever day in our history. No pressure after months of waking up at 0300 working out every permutation going.

The general atmosphere in our city thst dsy was off the scale. The 1000+ mad Italians, Bocelli, Birch bringing out the trophy and of course the lifting of it too. No other lifting of the PL trophy will ever come close to what we put on that day.

Like it or not: the goal and the game will forever be linked with Leicester City's title! It doesn't matter whether we'd have won it the Saturday after (which I have very little doubt) or at any other point in time: it was there and then that the title was decided.

For me personally, it's one of those rare moments in time, "Where were you when ... (Leicester City won the title)?" I was sat at home in my living room in Berlin with my scarf, and I celebrated, somewhat drenched in sweat!

I guess it's the same for the players (immortals)! Remember the famous videos (<- link) from the party at Jamie Vardy's house? Or this tweet (<- link) from Wes Morgan? That game was THE point in time when they won it, and they knew, and they celebrated (at the final whistle)!

It was an iconic goal. Tottenham’s race was officially run, and we had won it, and it felt amazing! Champagne flowed in Flemington, NJ that night, I can tell you!
