Joel Glazer, vice-chairman of the EBCCSWLToo many fucking Yanks in the PL for starters.
One can only hope that the wanky CL plans that seemed due to be signed-off tomorrow are ditched. That would be a good start to the fall-out from this.
Only because the Saudis asked him to sort out their Newcastle purchase. Grade A tw@t riding on the coat tails of the common man.Boris has joined the condemnation. That probably makes it a cert to happen.
European Big Cunty Clubs Shite Wanky League?Joel Glazer, vice-chairman of the EBCCSWL
(Prize for the first to decipher that SLA... )
Yeah the cunt, he should have told all those little clubs to fuck offOnly because the Saudis asked him to sort out their Newcastle purchase. Grade A tw@t riding on the coat tails of the common man
€3.5bn for €2m. Nice odds.Apparently this whole thing is being underwritten by bank JP Morgan who will provide founding clubs with €3.5 billion to support their infrastructure investment plans and offset the impact of the Covid pandemic. The league will be owned by the 15 founding clubs, who will put in an initial €2m and potentially a further €8m.
If so, this will surely provide them with a grossly unfair advantage over all other clubs and must surely result in expulsion from the PL. But wait for it .......
It's €3.5bn collectively, whereas any €2m upfront cost would be incurred by individual clubs. (Probably for initial PR help...)€3.5bn for €2m. Nice odds.
I still make that 87.5-1. That’s not just nice odds, it’s v nice odds. It's €3.5bn collectively, whereas any €2m upfront cost would be incurred by individual clubs. (Probably for initial PR help...)
It's not as straightforward as that though, is it?Genuinely want this to happen, more than happy for the 6 of them to clear off and have their little WWE-esque franchise league and let the rest of us get on with it.
If they want to have a Harlem Globetrotters exhibition league with Man U vs Ac Milan in Shanghai let them, there will be enough European football fans demand for TV rights. It's been said for years that bubble would burst, here it is, so be it, we adjust and get on with it.It's not as straightforward as that though, is it?
What do you think would happen to the value of TV rights for the PL around the world if the Chinese / Yanks / Southern Asians don't get to see the BCCs? And what would that then do to LCFC's ability to recruit and retain the likes of Little Wes and YT?
For once, this is a big news story that deserves the label...
I think I get you're point, I'm just saying I don't think it'll be the big cash cow they envisage, especially as Germany's big 2 have given it the 2-fingered wave off. All round Europe the leagues have survived a century plus, they'll survive this, albeit with a degree of financial adjustment. You miss my point.
Fair enough.
But I'd be prepared for quite a large 'adjustment' if anything like these plans actually happen.
