Just been trying to remember as much as I could about the vicious attack & robbery on Alan Bray at his Hinckley gun shop. They burst in tied him up,doused him in petrol and set him alight then robbed some firearms. Sometime in 1987 or thereabouts. Think his shop was somewhere in the row of shops at the back of the bus station at the time. Either next door or maybe somewhere near Wainfleet's booking office. Think they finally arrested 3 men for it who all got sentenced to 14 years at the trial!
 
Is Alan related to G-G-Geoff the ref?

I don't think so Bruin, Jeff Bray was Hinckley and Alan Bray's family were from Barrel but I'm not 100%, they may be related. Jeff was sec of the Leicestershire District League, a fine fella.
 
I'd forgotten all about that. Remember the row of shops and his store.

Didn't he take part in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics?
 
Who can understand the rationale of those scumbags to set the poor man on fire. Must have gone equipped with the petrol intending to do so. Pitiless sadism!
 
He was tied up as well and they had what they wanted.

I'm assuming they are free by now and among us, if still alive...
