FAO Vanles - The Reytons

DagenhamFox

Blue Roofer
New single first off the album.

I’m off to Sheffield on Saturday to see them live there then currently also to Kentish Town in 2 weeks (I may bin that off).

We’re also doing a weekend to Ghent and Amsterdam in November thus I might save my cash and get out of London the weekend of the Kentish Town gig.

Had a listen about 2am this morning. Ordered the new album last week. Be interesting as I reckon the third album from a band gives you a good idea where a band is going

Yeah me too, the vinyl and CD bundle. Will probably get the Assai vinyl special edition too if there is one.

The single is solid enough if a bit slower than the usual stuff.

How was Sheffield Dags? 13’500 sell out. Bit different to seeing them at Plug back in 2017 with 100 others, most of them friends and family 😂
I’ve been reading a few Facebook posts, some of the erm, older generation saying that they have been to loads of gigs in their lifetime and seen the supposed best acts around at the time and this was the best gig they’ve ever been to. Maybe a bit of hyperbole or caught up in the moment?

Vanles it was epic. Absolutely brilliant. Pulp at Finsbury Park was my gig of the year up to this weekend. I think this is on a par.

They pretty much bashed out banger after banger. They’re still in the moment talking about the fact this may be the only time they play there, certainly as headliners and they’re making the most of it.

It was my 8th time seeing them, Tramlines festival in the Leadmill stage was the first, and they are not afraid of the big stage and the big moment.

It was only 18 months since I saw them in Southend in Chinnery’s, a small pub venue. You’ll have to go abroad now to see them in small venues.

At the end a load of fake currency was blasted out of a cannon. We think they’re playing Clifton Park, Rotherham next summer. I won’t go. I think around Sheffield they want to cash in and do their own gigs instead of headlining Tramlines, and who can blame them?

Looks like Clifton Park will be an all day gig probably with 4 or 5 supports. Looks like a great day. I won’t go up for it though.

If anyone fancies it, get in quick.

The promoter has put in for 20’000 crowd. Be good to get the artic monkeys as support as long as they stick to their old stuff 🙂
Talk of Reverend and the Makers supporting. It would be good to have on all those acts that have supported them from the start. Personally I’d love it if The Lottery Winners make an appearance. Probably one of the best festival bands around today.

I’ve their latest album downloaded as an acoustic one. It is decent. Acoustic Replacement Threapy.

The lyrics to this song are fantastic.

I might go and see The Clause up at Milton Keynes. They’re somehow not playing London and I couldn’t get last time they were down here.

New gig announced for next month I think, Lottery Winners supported by The Clause and The Howlers in Camden. That’s a great line up.

I’m gonna give it a go I think.
