ah that's right, the thing is i was 11 at the time so was only allowed to stay on London Rd till that time on a Friday(school and that).Wouldn't let my lad who's about the same age do that now.....different times!Every night in 1981, Light engine would always be held at Hinckley until he got the road. usually around 10pm and bring around 10 parcel wagons back to BTM full chelp through Hinckley about 2 in the morning. The job didn't last long, maybe 6 months
I think we only needed 6 to class them all going through Hinckley. Hood was one that never made it in the book until we got him in 1983 when we went on a rail tour Hauled by Hood from Birmingham to Darlingtonah that's right, the thing is i was 11 at the time so was only allowed to stay on London Rd till that time on a Friday(school and that).Wouldn't let my lad who's about the same age do that now.....different times!

I never went into Leicester much. The guy at brum was well known to all the bobbys around Brum. My mate worked Washwood Heath after he was relieved of his duties at Hinckley and that fella used to contact the box by the line side phone, he was half crackers but was a good pair of extra eyesMicky,i bet you remember The Baron on the birdcage at Leicester and a Bloke that looked like giant haystacks bashing around birmingham?
Yeah that's the one, it was a stifling hot Sunday as I recallWas that open day at Mantle Lane the one where there was a DMU rail tour that Tysley turned out a suburban unit for so they had to keep drawing forward to let the people onto the one coach platform and fucked up the one behind?
Just had a gander at that site, it was 1985 and the 50 was 007.
