Why would we hire a seven foot hippo with no premier league experience who’s only claim to fame is doing well in the mascots race?

The least we can do is give him six months of chronic underperformance as Leicester manager before calling him out. Eighteen months, in fact, if you’ve got a prescription.

The problem is, there are almost two separate jobs we need doing: first, we need somebody to come in and find a to immediately lift our deeply dysfunctional squad and help us to avoid relegation; and second, we need someone to oversee a massive squad rebuild in the summer and start afresh next season. Ideally we’d be able to find one man suited to both jobs, but we might need separate appointments.
