It's this kind of searing analysis that keeps me subscribing to the athletic.
From a q&a with tanner :

Q. What do you think the chances are of Dean Smith staying on if he keeps us up? — Joe C.

A. A lot will depend on how Leicester perform over the rest of the season.

Tanner perhaps meant that if we stay up on goal average Smith will go, but if we win every game 6-1 he should have a good chance of being kept on. :)

If Smithy keeps us up he will get the Job, don't dream of top 5 finishes but to stay in Premier is vital.

Why the fuck don't you describe the "two top five finishes" as two top four finishes that we should've walked?
Yeah we should've qualified for Champions league but we didn't, probably being "little old Leicester" punching above our weight.

I don't care what people say on here but Brendan Rodgers will go down in history as being one of our most successful managers, you've been spoilt. 😂

Even Lady Bracknell could see the enormous scale of fuck-up that those two failures which will forever remain on BFR's tombstone, sorry CV. Nothing 'spoilt' about remembering those disasters (purely in a football club sense) as the very opposite of elite success deserving of fond recollection.

And the inexcusable fact that what those two implosions made crystal clear – to any fucking idiot – about the spineless mental fragility of the squad, was completely ignored by the very cunt who should've started correcting the problem in summer 2020.

Brendan will always land on his feet and secure a top job, he wanted investment here for players, told no cannot sign anyone till January.

I can't be arsed to continue banging my head against a brick wall.
He was always going to fool some people with his smoke and mirrors, but it really shouldn't be city fans who've been exposed in repeated close-up detail to his glaring shortcomings over the past 30 months. Ho hum.

Those words after the Notts Forest Cup defeat ‘we need a total refresh’ was the final straw. The day he lost the players because he was effectively saying it’s not me it’s them.

I remember one senior leader where I once worked telling his team that ‘if we don’t meet these targets it won’t be my fault it will be yours’. Not the way to inspire and motivate ... my initial thought was ‘what a dick’.
