Caught out too often. Wrong side too often. Awareness generally needs sharpening up. As Bruin says, long way to go for him yet.
 
Agree, he has a long way to go. Got caught in possession at least 4 times in 2nd half in key areas, leading to Villa chances.
 
He's certainly got the enthusiasm, just needs to turn it into talent, remember when Vardy first started and Barnes after returning from West Brom, I'd give him more starts, certainly better than Soumare.
 
I wanted Rodgers to start him so we could find out whether he was any good, or at least better than Soumare who has been less than impressive.
Based on yesterday, against quite dreadful opposition, he was very poor in the second half, when we needed to step up
Surprised no one on here has commented on his missed header in the first half, when it was easier to score than miss so badly.
If that had gone in it might have boosted his confidence, but it didn't.
How we miss Youri.
 
Looks out of his depth at the minute and like he needs another season out on loan in the Championship to me.

Not to say he won't make the grade, but he's a million miles away from it just now.
 
if nothing else, this run of soumare / kdh will make those calling for youri to be dropped reconsider...
 
Million miles? He looked a very decent prospect to me in his first game. No way was he responsible for our second half decline.

Generally, what we have is a top six front line and bottom six defence. Only five clubs have scored more, but only three have conceded more.
And we have been a one half team for some time, we just need to decide which half!

I like him and think he can develop (it was his first start !!) into a fine midfielder for us. As far as the chance missed remind me how many times Soumare has bothered to get into the opposition box let alone come close to scoring

He’s not played a lot. With it being his first game start he probably went a bit gung ho in the 1st half. Faded then through tiredness but also McGinn and Luiz took control and overcame Wilf whilst not having to worry about Daka as he’d been pushed out wide for some dumb reason
 
We capitulated because after a rollicking AV upped there effort which combined with an early, soft, goal was enough for us to lose our focus and with it control. It points to us being mentally fragile at the moment..
In the last two seasons in which we famously stumbled at the last hurdle it was our most experienced and mature players whose mentality crumbled most (those that KDH and Thomas should to be looking to for an example). This seems to be re emerging and the biggest challenge to the manager...
