Leicester market.

Come on, the one that was on corner of cheapside facing where the lcfc shop is. That one. Got vandalized so it was a good excuse to get rid.
As for Pete, it's got to be a case of the the buckstops here. It's his staff at the council ain't it.? Or don't he have a say in that?

They didn't get rid of it - they moved it nearer to the original location, when Jubilee Square was created.
The Mayor has no say in planning decisions.

Por old Pete, makes like a bit more difficult for a few car drivers and the gets the blame for everything.
Tin hat donned ;)

To be fair - the transport policy for central Leicester is pretty shite.
The new free bus is OK.
But cycle lanes - they should be for a mass transit system instead.
A proper alternative to buses.

The traders aren't happy at all, they are being over charged for Dragon Square and there's no punters turning up there.

They shouldn't have moved this close to Crimbo and if they had to it should have gone onto Gallowtree Gate, or Humbo Gate.

I was there yesterday, skanky, brown junkies everywhere.

Your having a giraffe ain't you ?

The bus lanes are totally fucking it up for the vast majority of road users.
And don't get me started about the buses
At best there is one an hour from where I live ( if it turns up)
It's useless, pathetic.
They chopped the service after 8.50 in the evening, so no point in going for a night down the town.
The service is piss poor but Pete still thinks we should use the buses and cycles.
Having already commented about a shit bus service, I suppose I could hop on a bike.
Problem is how do I carry any shopping home on a bike ?
And as a person who is nearing the retirement decade, using a bike is pretty much unthinkable in anything other than summer weather for a gentle bimble into the countryside.

I was taking the piss mate, I don’t live there so have no idea how the traffic planning works for cyclists or car drivers. I have noticed though that the mayor seems to get the blame for things that outside his control.
I’m 3 years from retirement, spent years picking bringing the shopping home on my bike and not just in the summer.
We use the car or get a home delivery for the bulky or really heavy stuff.

Yes but the slight problem with the underclass crashing out on the boards on top of the market stalls serving tables is that they piss, shit and spew up all over the boards along with squirting drugs all over the piss and shyte.
Not a great place for the market traders to then stack their fruit and veg early in the mornings.
Unless you fancy your Cox's Orange Pippins laced with piss, shit and drugs?
do they cost extra? (asking for a friend).
