Only been while very drunk, so l know nothing about the place except its in France and you get off at the Garde du Nord.

Check the price of coffee before ordering, I'm being serious here, Mrs H and I had a coffee whilst sat outside enjoying the view, it cost us about 50% of our spending money. Many years ago when we like church mice.

Last two times I visited I stayed at these:
https://www.hotelducollectionneur.com/ - classy but (I'm guessing) pricy, nice quiet location near Parc Monceau near the Etoile
Mercure Pigalle Sacre-Coeur - standard tourist sort of place, rooms a bit small (I had a twin, a double might be better), great location for Montmartre etc but also for wandering down towards the Opera area, some nice bars and restaurants round there and not too obviously touristy.
The time before that was an Ibis on the ring road which was fine but I wouldn't exactly recommend it.
I haven't really stayed in any small independent places but there must be loads of decent ones.

What sort of hotel do you like / want? And what part of the city will you be spending most of your time in?
There's the same range as you get in London or anywhere else...

Don't really know just want to be in walking distance of the tourist area really. Was going this week end but delayed it and went somewhere else. Probably go in June now.
