Parking in London

We are going to see a show in the Covent Garden area next Friday. We have train tickets which have been rendered useless by train strikes.

Can anybody help with suggestions for parking near a Tube Station in North London, say from 11 in the morning till 11 at night? Years since I did similar but Kilburn rings a bell, and my daughter suggested Finchley

Any help welcome!

Most places are parking permits nowadays.
Can’t guarantee a place but you can have one of our day permits for visitors. Station is 8 minute walk and then 40 minutes to Covent Garden.

Cockfosters has become my preference. Easy unrestricted street parking on Verwood Drive near to the Cock Inn. 5 minutes stroll to the tube station, 28 minutes into Kings Cross/St.Pancras.

Peatling I can give you some recent experience of this.
Stanmore is good for the tube trip but unless you are there at silly o clock in the morning then you've very little chance of parking on a working day.
The best thing we did was go on a website which allows you to book someone's driveway near the station. It cost us a little more ( approx £11-12) but took all the stress out of the day and we felt it was secure with the family we left it with.
If you wanted to use this option I suggest you have a look about booking a space online, if you can't find an appropriate website I will ask my sister who she booked it with.
The woman that looked after ours told us how vehicles are in the area extremely early just to get a station parking space, and then hang around until they need to go into London.

Stanmore is the best option. 2 miles off Jct.4, no drive into London.
If however, the car park is full, the housing estate just before the tube station has spaces 10-15 mins walk away. The first few roads are predictably residents parking only but a bit further in street parking is available.

Thanks to all for some very useful information! Nice to know there are plenty of options including street parking minutes from a tube station

This isn’t a prelude to ‘we’ll just watch what he does and then tell him where he’s gone wrong’ is it?
