Many parking restrictions don't run on Sundays, and some authorities don't charge or enforce on bank holidays – but neither of these are things you can take for granted. Where the signs don't say which days they apply on, they apply every day, Sundays and bank holidays included.Thought there were no restrictions on bank holidays.
Given it is allowable to park in the same places during normal match times (weekends or after 6pm) yes I think people can be surprised that the council chose to enforce... specially on a bank holiday. Is anyone really surprised by strict parking enforcement on a matchday??
what road ?Anybody else park on one of the streets off the Aylestone Road yesterday?
I got back to my car and the thieving council bar stewards had issued tickets to the whole street both sides! A nice little earner for Leicester City Council!
Each to their own, I suppose. But councils are rather known for it.Given it is allowable to park in the same places during normal match times (weekends or after 6pm) yes I think people can be surprised that the council chose to enforce... specially on a bank holiday.
Foreseeable? Maybe.
Surprising? Definitely.

Before 6.30pm on any weekday would always cause me to check vigorously. Even on Christmas Day, when visiting friends in Brighton a few years back, restrictions applied as normal.
Curb Rats.I am usually in town most Wednesdays after 7pm
I walk up from the bus station and rarely fail to see a pair of wardens ticketing people especially in the meter paying parking bays.
And for those that park on yellows and thinking it's ok because it's evening time, your not.
Dartford Roadwhat road ?
If your stuck there's a little estate of Cavendish road that you can park in, its out the way a not many know about it. There's a few sneaking spots dotted around that area, I've got a couple but I'm not telling you about these.
Come to think of it, l don't know of any parking restrictions in most street, l am there quite often as l own a few properties in them street.
go the other side of Aylestone road, you can normally park on Cavendish road and the roads off it, also what they call Old Saffron Lane now. You can also park on the grass verges infant of the old Stadium on the Safff. The first on is slightly further away but you'll get away 3 times quicker after the game.Dartford Road
this great, and its totally true, but were they get you on things like parking tickets etc is they will steal your time to a point where its not worth it !
Yes mate, spot on I’ve had the same scenario with blocking the verge whilst parked on my driveway, there’s a virgin box, telegraph pole and, I shit you not, a lamppost immediately to my right so I argued the point and demanded to know what the fuck I was blocking the verge fromthis great, and its totally true, but were they get you on things like parking tickets etc is they will steal your time to a point where its not worth it !
l got a parking ticket on Freemans Common for parking on double yellows. I wasn't on double yellows l was in a private driveway, l took photos to prove this.
I did all the right things to prove l was correct, like demanding proof that that had authority to fine me, which they didn't, maps to show who owned the land and where was the contract of agreement between me and them.
I said "take me court", l spent hours on this bollocks of which l would have won, but in lost time it would have cost me hundreds of pounds if not more. They did nothing after this and a year later started again, at this point l had a lot going on and didn't need to waste my time proving a point for what would have only cost me £35.
I thought fuck it, spoke to the council without backing down and they offered to accept £70, l though to get this out of my hair, what's £70 as I've got better things to do.
And, thats it, they make it just enough not be worth fighting it, it is all 100% fraud but they have the system of control and you personally won't win unless you are prepared to give your time up for nothing.
My principles have cost me financially before, some wankers called Prestige Car wheels or something tried to charge me for a job that they didn't do properly. The owner who was obviously a bully and tried it on with me, and he got told to fuck off. The shit back shouted back "I'll see you in court". Me knowing l was right said "go on then". Well l paid 100's for reports and even a wank pot barrister, yet lost. All for £140, basically a battle of ego's. I won't mention what went after, but it basically wasn't worth it.
Its their game, extortion !
