Play offs

I don't think we could win a final in a one off game with our style of play, let's hope we don't bottle our super position we have thoughts?

Said weeks ago that I've have zero confidence in us if it comes to the play-offs, let alone the final.
Or in any serious game, to be honest. I'll be impressed – and v surprised – if we turn up at leeds.
More evidence today that anyone with anything about them has a really good chance against us, despite all the accolades and stats that some people love so much.

Don't worry about it - we will be promoted as Champions

To be honest, I'm not particularly concerned yet – as there aren't many such clubs / managers in this division. But if the wobble starts (cup included, one can easily see 3 straights defeats coming up), I'd be concerned that it could take a firm hold for my (previously-mocked) lack of conviction about our mental strength and adversity resistance.

If we lose to Leeds then I don’t want to see us progress in the cup. We really will need to concentrate on the league.

If however we beat Leeds and gain back the three points lost, I’ll be up for us playing a strong team at Bournemouth and getting a good gauge on where we are.

Big similarities to Burnley imo. Granted, we are yet to see it through but Burnley pissed this league playing some decent football with a rookie/ raw manager. Kompany has kept playing the same way & he’s bringing them straight back down because of that mentality.
If we do go up I don’t see us having the kind of money that will make the required improvement in player that we need to play his type of football. So that leaves the idea of him having to adjust his ridged philosophy which he’s showed no signs of doing so far when it’s not working/ when teams aren’t afraid of us.

There are definitely similarities with Burnley which is a slight cause of concern. How much did they spend last summer? A hundred and how many million?

As did many other teams before them.

The accounts for financial year ending June 2023 will tell us a lot
I think they will include the sale of Fofana , Maddison and Barnes
Probably a profit on sale there of around £100 million
We have invested very little in players in the last two years so it is all down to the wage
bill reported still to be running at around £90 million per annum down from over £160 million
The revenue excluding parachute money this year I would guess to be around £20 million
There is still an obvious financial imbalance and it will be difficult going forward
Going to be a struggle if we go up 😀

Thing is against Leeds all pressure is on them because they have to win.

Absolutely nailed it.

Yeah of course, we can just turn up to that one without a care in the world :rolleyes::rolleyes:

You miss the point, as usual. A tough, seasoned team would understand that there is an excellent opportunity to show their real mettle in that sort of game, knowing that everyone (comparatively speaking) is watching, that it means a lot to the fans, knowing that some may be thinking of them as flat-track bullies, etc, etc, etc. I am unconvinced that they have that sort of mental attitude, or the ability to turn up big time when it really matters. I may be wrong, but we'll see....

So the way I understand it is if teams come out of the blocks and attack us we struggle!! If team's come and put a 5 man defence behind the ball we struggle to break them down !!!!!
Just saying Enzo ' don't take offence 👀👀👀👀👀

Despite the good results ( plenty of them )
we don't seem to react well to teams that don't fear us.
Flat track bullies?

Well Top Fox you know everything - I've known this since weeks ago - but the thing is I have zero confidence in your bluster.
