Took the chelsea job for money, now complaining about the mental strain because it isn't going well.
I thought he was a smart cookie until he took that job, now he's just like any other manager wanting sympathy when it all goes wrong.
i'd still take him in the summer after chelsea sack him. He does a much better job at a smaller club like ours ;)

May as well sell the strikers if he turns up, his don’t score.

Took the chelsea job for money,
Do you know that?
My impression of him – some family support BHA so I pay a lot more attention to them than most other teams – is that he would've gone for the professional and intellectual challenge of a different level of club, rather than simply money. His background qualifications would probably mean that the challenge of managing a different level of self-obsessed spoilt bastard also intrigued him.
The more interesting thing for me is that Chelsea must have twigged that he's a streaky manager – good runs and terrible runs – and presumably were happy to accept that risk continuing. If they assumed their fans would be patient enough to do so, there's perhaps a touch of footballing naivety.

Sounds like Rodgers would fit perfectly then.

I'm going to take a wild guess that his salary is not the same as when he was at BHA.
My point is simply, don't be happy to take the money, and then whine when it all goes wrong.
That applies to any job anywhere.

OK.
Of course he'll be on more at Chelsea – we're not fuckwits.
But your point seemed to be based on the "fact" that he moved because of money.

Some managers have the capability of managing the very biggest teams. They command the respect of the players and know how to motivate them and their massive ego’s.

Other managers just can’t do it, it’s too big a task. There have been plenty of examples down the years of managers who have failed at a bigger club.

I never thought Potter would be a success at Chelsea but he’s not a bad manager. I’d take him for sure but like I said above he could do with a break after this Chelsea stint to refocus his mind.

He’s really got nothing to moan about, isn’t he on a 7 year contract? That’s a great deal if it goes well but it’s an even better deal if it goes tits up and he finishes up getting the sack, I heard that poch got a 12 million pay off when Spurs sacked him I can’t imagine how much potter would get

Southampton paid £4m compo to Luton for Nathan Jones
He lost 7 out of 8 league games and was sacked....no doubt on a long contract too.
When your paymaster wants instant success it's a football tightrope.

that’s exactly what I was saying he’s been absolute dog shit and he’s finished up with £4m, why anyone feels any sympathy for any football manager is beyond me.

Chelsea fans at golf want Potter gone, would have him at The KP with his back room staff and scouts…
His assistant is Billy Reid, he played for Queen of the South in the 1980s, and was instrumental in the first team I ever fell in love with, the 1985/86 vintage that won promotion. For that reason alone, I 'd offer to drive down and bring them up to Seagrave pronto.

I don't think they'll sack him, Todd Boely has had the same manager in charge at the LA Dodgers for years and has trusted him to get them to be a winning outfit. He'll get the summer to work with the squad he wants, and Boely and co will ship out dozens of players.

I remember back in August Chelsea leading Tottenham and looking like the real deal until a certain Ngolo Kante went off injured. Since then they've pretty much gone to shit. As we all know Kante maketh the team but it is now six months absence for a hamstring injury, is that some sort of record?
