Knife & Fork pending
2 RAF Typhoon fighters flew over Hinckley and Burbage on Friday lunchtime.Probably up from Coningsby and seemed to be heading southwards.
Confirmed on the Burbage Village Community site, “If anyone is wondering that was an RAF Typhoon fly over at just over 500 feet just now” - 12.57pm.

They were scrambled recently(afternoon of March 4th) to intercept, guide and divert a Dash 8 aircraft to land at Stansted after it had lost radio signal as it flew towards London. Loud bangs were heard over Central England and London believed to have been a sonic boom as the 2 Typhoon fighters were reportedly supersonic on their way south from RAF Coningsby.
The Dash 8 aircraft with only a pilot and co-pilot on board on a flight from Iceland to Nairobi had lost radio communications as it approached London. Essex Police carried out an investigation at Stansted and eventually the aircraft was released to continue its journey.
All in a days work for the RAF!

I live just down the road from Brize Norton. There has been a very noticeable increase in flights arriving and departing over the past few weeks, including night flights, which are usually rare.

A massive NATO exercise has been taking place over the last two weeks

There is an air navigation beacon next to the railway line close to Hinckley, probably in Burbage, with the callsign SAPCO.
A lot of USAF F-15's transit this way between Lakenheath and the Wales low fly area, although these ar usually around 15,000 ft.

FWIW There are 2 or 3 USAF Spy Planes (U2) based at RAF Fairford and most mornings of the week one comes over middle England en route to somewhere in the far North East.
