But how many ACL injuries do we have especially amongst the young players????
There's something radically wrong.

I did my ACL playing 5 a side many years ago, and it was purely a twisting injury - I wasn't touched or tackled by another player, just moved my weight to change direction, foot stayed where it was, knee went BANG

Now, I am the first one to say that something is wrong with the fitness training (not the place) when so many players get the same injuries but I am not sure that can be the case with ACL injuries. I dunno, maybe you can strengthen them so they deal with twists etc. better (and I believe that there is a theory that so many women are getting ACL injuries because of having to use men's boots which would suggest that you could do things to help avoid them) but there just seems something a bit more unlucky about them.
