The World Snooker Final

Is again serving up some drama.

The lad Wilson from Kettering has looked uncomfortable for a good few frames now whereas Jones has real belief right now.

It’s a great watch with some fantastic pots.

I really enjoy my snooker but I couldn't help think that apart from 2 or 3 matches that this wasn't a vintage year at the Crucible.
The old guard and some of the household names all look to be in decline at a similar time.
Higgins, Williams, Selby, and even O'Sullivan are all on the slippery slope imo.
The newer generation are not as good as the above mentioned.
The semi finals lacked the drama of having close finishes and the final at times looked like a player ranked 40+ contesting it.
Overall Wilson deserved his victory but this one won't live long in the memory.

I agree it wasn’t vintage but I enjoyed the slow comeback by Jones. Some of the potting was great. Others was really not.

I think this talk about a breakaway league affected some of the better players this year.

There seems to be a split amongst the players regarding a breakaway.
Some have ££££'s on their minds, others are more for keeping the tradition and keeping the likes of the Crucible going.

The powers that be keep banging on about the crucible only holding 980 people & they need a bigger venue, conveniently forgetting that snooker, unlike most other sports can only be truly enjoyed if you are within a reasonable distance of the table.
Once our main events go to Saudi/China they wont be coming back.

Exactly what my wife and I were saying last night.

Who wants to go to a venue and watch it on a screen because it’s all too far away?

Live snooker is absolutely fascinating.
