Ticket Forwarding

Have you heard about this. The club’s new scheme for passing your season ticket to a mate when you can’t go to a game.

‘Ticket Forwarding offers Season Ticket Holders the chance to forward their ticket onto a friend or family member with a linked ticketing account for up to four times in the season. Please note that the person that is taking on the ticket for a game must hold a 2023/24 Fox Membership and cannot already hold a ticket for the relevant game. (Membership information will be released in due course).’

What I didn’t realise until recently is that anyone aged 15 or under can’t go to a game unless accompanied by and adult (18 or over).

When did that start - I was probably going to home games on my own at about 10 (and getting in for the last 10 minutes or crawling under turnstiles at around 8 or younger) first away match with mates of a similar age at about 12.

Why only 4 times?

Relatively easy process doing this during World Cup. But why the necessity of being a member? Seems total lack of trust by club regarding STHs passing onto away fans!

What about the thriving support from our Thai fan base after the wonderful Spurs Bangkok supporters P.R success? When they come over in their droves, will they also have to fork out for membership for the priviledge of seeing a game?

Also, what stops anyone buying a cheap smart phone and putting ticket app on there, and passing it around various mates who want to use it?

Some IT geek who has no idea what real supporters go through/spend/forgo to attend games from far and wide is now in charge.
Any emotion/long standing supporter concerns/technophobia is being cast to one side in pursuit of (so called) progress.
Artificial intelligence anyone?

Perhaps it's to stop people from holding onto STs after they've decided to stop going but the trying to make some money out of it.
People moan about how the younger fans will never get the chance of getting away priority points etc, well it helps if you can get your hands on a ST asap which isn't helped by others holding onto the Sts of family members who have passed.

It's rumoured down here that the average age of Arsenal Season Ticket holders is 125.
Cos whenever a ST holder dies the family never report the death to the club but they hang on to the ticket and renew each season under the deceased's name.
The waiting list for legit season tickets to become available runs into decades.

I’ve a gooner mate who has a ST. He’s never seen the same person sitting in the seat next to him. Never. All kinds of people, all kinds of nationalities. He’s asked a few of them how much they’ve paid for their ticket. Minimum £150 but often well over £200 especially for the bigger matches. Big business

At Leicester if a ST holder dies you’re allowed to pass it down to a member of the same family but any priority points from away matches the deceased had accrued are removed.

The fact you can only do it 4 times.
i don't think he's talking about forwarding.
he means put the ticket app for yourself on a cheap phone instead of your normal one, use it when you can go, and pass that phone around when you can't go.
the phone then becomes the season ticket book.
i did this when i went to last seasons preseason game.
i had my regular US phone, and bought a cheapo uk phone when i arrived and used that with the mobile ticket cuz i wasn't sure my US phone would work. i could've given that cheap phone to anybody to get in and got it back after the game (obviously you only do it with people you know).
but if a group of people chipped in to buy a phone and had a cheapo giffgaff etc account it would cost peanuts per person and you wouldn't have to worry about the 4 match limit.
unless i'm missing something obvious.

They club quoted stuff like that to me on a meeting regarding digital tickets. Problem is thats just not how it is at Leicester, certainly not in any great number and not in second division.

Seriously?

Yes I know two people that have done it, you will need a copy of the death certificate!
That seems wrong to me, if you had tens of thousands on the waiting list for a ST like some clubs most would never have a chance of getting one.
Sadly that’s also wide open to abuse along the lines that LG mentioned, tickets could end up with people with no interest in the game who then make a fortune flogging tickets to tourists.

Yep that's right - see the link above and FAQ 14

If a Season Ticket Holder dies, provided that the Club is notified within the following period of three (3) months, the Season Ticket (excluding any priority points) may be transferred to an immediate family member (as determined by the Club) with the consent of the Club (such consent to be given at the Club’s absolute discretion) and upon the provision of such evidence as the Club may require, including but not limited to a copy of the Season Ticket Holder’s death certificate and confirmation from the executor of the will of the Season Ticket Holder that the family member is entitled to receive the Season Ticket. If the concession ....

yes that is exactly what I meant, and exactly what I would do if I had a ST.
