Ward

Yep same here. Don't know what it is but I feel like he lacks a goalkeeping presence. That yawping big lump with a luminous loud shirt that somehow fills the goal and keeps his defence in front of him on their toes.
Ward as had some good performances but plenty of questionable ones as well. Unfortunately it's the one position on the pitch that you can't afford to be inconsistent.

He was wrongly positioned for Rashfords goal. In a ranking of prem keepers he’d be in the bottom five.

I agree, one of the pundits said it was unstoppable from Rashford, but from the angle he struck it I think he should of got something on it.
In his defence, the defence itself didn't do him any favours.

I still think we need a better keeper...I mean wards OK, but hes just that..OK.....Schmeichel would have been yelling instructions to that back 4 throughout the game....I'm also not convinced by his positioning on some of the goals we've conceded.
Anyone else agree ?
Exactly - it's almost as though we've become content with him because after an horrendous start when he looked way out of his depth, he's starting to at least look competent.
But he's never going to change the game for us - he's never going to have that presence and command at the back. He's just any ordinary keeper who's not really premier League level.

His Positioning just looks wrong one on one any striker looks certain to score I’m afraid he’s total gash just Bodgers pride there cannot be any way Iverson is worse than him just watching scares the life out of me fuck knows what the defenders think !

Ward isn't the best but toblame him for the shortcomings in defence is ludicrous.rashfords goal was taken brilliantly and if ward hadn't covered the near post and it had gone in there you would have moaned about that.
As for watching the header hit the bar he couldn't do any other as it was well out of his reach and once again a free header granted by our defence.

It's a cumulation of many things, not just yesterday but all season.

His positioning has been repeatedly questioned (by motd, as well as on here).
It's the one on ones where he turns his body away from the ball
It's shots being saved by his knee that give the impression he had zero idea where the ball was and got lucky.
It's the refusal to tuck his shirt in 😀
It's his Welsh manager preferring a championship bench warmer to him in the world cup

All these things add up, and you arrive at the conclusion he just isn't premier league level.

What I've seen of Iversen leads me to the conclusion that neither are PL goalies.
We’ll only know how good Iversen is if he plays in a PL game.

Thing is, does Rodgers want to take the chance? He may get an appearance if & when we are mathematically safe - even then it’s debatable given the league position/prize money situation.

The thing is that Ward only played occasionally in cup games prior to Kasper leaving, saved penalties etc and most I'm guessing thought he was a sound back up. Now he's had an extended run we can see his shortcomings. However Iverson should be given a fair run of games in which to prove himself.
