Pints before a game at Filbert Street…

Roofer
I always remember 5 minutes to 3 (often a bit later) in The Turnstile on Saturdays in the late 70s, 80s & 90s knocking back a pint of Bass (might have been a Black Label on the odd occasion) after a game of crash and then fighting our way past the miserable Geordie bloke on the gate in the supporters club end…
Them were the bloody days my friends..

Remember a drinkable pint of bitter in the turnstile unlike chav central it is today, sign of the times
Totally agree, had a few different pints of beer in there over the years, Worthington E & I’m sure they had a Stones Bitter at one time years ago…

The Peel was my first pre match pub. Then moved to the Victory.

Then I used to go around town a bit.The Wyvern, Globe, Saracens Head, Yates, and have one or two on the way Nags Head & Star & Bricklayers, Swan & Rushes.

Nags Head when Drew kept it. Battle around it with a mob of Sheffield Wednesday. Some of our lads suited and booted for a wedding later in the day. Fuckin’ funny!
Mayhem with Millwall in between the Rutland & Derby.
