I do get the appeal of saying all will be fine - the reality is terrifying if you dwell on it for too long.

Somebody, like last summer, will mention that they’re grandad survived similar temperatures whilst sat in a trench at El Alamain, conveniently forgetting that he was a fighting fit 19 year old.
 
the Earth is over 4 billion years old yet people use a temperature trend from the past 150 years to claim that it is warming unusually. Complete nonsense and statistically worthless

It’s a fact that “going green” always cost us money and little black kids lives. Which, incidentally, the three of you fuckers have kept quiet about when challenged, so jump off your high hobby horse. It’s ambre solaire and Speedos all the way for me, enjoy it while it lasts.

What is the 'fact' though?

It's getting a bit warmer as part of the normal changes in the weather or that it's getting warmer due to human activity?

Do we ALL have to stop using fossil fuels? That's probably almost impossible, we do need to change our habits and the yanks and chinese need to massively reign in theirs.
Reading a piece this week about how Africa is held back by a lack of airlines working together, if you increase the number of flights your economy takes massive steps forward in th short term. Not sure that's a good idea but roads and rail are, in the main, lacking.
 
Stopping printing inane placards and pissing people off by being a bunch of self absorbed dick heads causing congestion and extra emissions might make a difference as well.

I'm glad this board wasn't around in 1976 you'd have sold up and be waiting to die on Beacon Hill. Also, can you 'somehow explain' all the hottest temperatures ever recorded bit when we've been recording temperature for how long exactly? A miniscule percentage of even the recent past. But this is classic shut down of debate, funding for research is only given to those who will reach the right conclusion. Einstein proved much of Newton's Law to be wrong, today he would be labelled a 'Denier'.
By the way it's been unseasonably cool here today with rain for most of it.
