What was your favourite Leicester nightclub?

We ran Quench your thirst, opposite the old Odeon. Early to mid 90's.
It was a great night, until the Leicester gangsters realised there was money to be made from dance music & drugs
Glaze was in on Quench your Thirst?
He tried to get it going in Wakefield aswell.
He knew Ian Ossia.
Did Glen Gunner play Quench one night?

Anybody remember 'Le Chateau' aka 'Le Shithole' up the London Road early 80's? Our post-pub haunt for a bit of rough wine and dancing the light fantastic. Not 'arf pop pickers!

Honourable 83 onwards shouts for Coasters/Superbowl at the back of Lee Circle, and Legends, round the corner from the Corn Exchange near the indoor Market. Many great nights has in both.

Does anyone remember The Latin Quarter, Belgrave Road near to the junction with Abbey Park Road, the late 1960s? I never went there myself, walked past it many times and often wondered what it was like.
The place burnt down and I remember the local residents gathering outside to drink a toast.

Glen Gunner did play Leicester once to my knowledge, because a mate of mine picked him up.
It may have been Splendid at Starlite 2001(which was always a great night) because it was a Friday.

I've still got the flyers in the loft, I'll have to have a look

Was in there to celebrate SH getting out of nick and ended up kicking off with Ramzy and his doormen. Not much room to dodge the punches and only one way out !

Scamps I was knocked down all the stairs to the bouncers and straight out the door Pernod free promotion night never touched it since

Just too young for Il Rondo, but from what I’ve heard about it over the years, I think I would have enjoyed it. On Silver St wasn’t it? (Or Cank?)

Out of the city weren’t Hinckley decent in the early 90’s union back of the bounty and ritzys, more Cov fans than I’d like to see though for some reason.
Also Royal haven at Fenny Drayton what a night on a Wednesday, packed to the rafters disco and fall into the big pond on way out!

Back of the Bounty was always good, as was the alternative night at Ritzy’s on a Thursday.
For a trip into town I loved Sector 5. Far more diverse than the fanny.

Adam and Eve Thursday nights hen nights
Saw George Mccrae at Baileys
Palais Bali Hi
I worked at the Palais for a few months and often staffed the Bali Hai solo. The only time I went in a Leicester club as a customer was Palais staff Christmas do after we closed at a small place round the corner called Spots or Spotts.

Isn't that the one that became Sloopys before it burnt down?

Wasn't that a gay club owned by the same people that opened Leicester Place, on St. James Street?

What was the little club above the Palais? The entrance was opposite Spots I think? They did a great indie/goth night in the week.
Yeah apparently it was a gay club.
The Bali Hai was the little place above the Palais, at least it was when I worked there (may have changed its name later). The indie/goth stuff must also have been after my time (to be fair there wasn't such a thing when I worked there) - I can't remember exactly but it was sometimes open as an extra space for the main venue and sometimes hired out for private functions (typically 18th birthdays). The DJ was a guy called Nigel who was an economics teacher at one of the Leicester secondary schools.
