Brexit update

The disappointment of your choices is your own challenge. What anyone else discloses here is up to them.
My choices were made in good faith at the time. Anybody can be wise after the event.

Your lack of disclosure simply leads me to the assumption that like so many on here, you are somewhat challenged in your ability to express and defend your views. I mostly think you are a decent sort, but this does not help me to understand you.

Were you to be more open and expressive, I might get a better handle on just who you are, perhaps that is not something that you would want me, or others, to know?

But there are market pressures due to a restriction on skills.

HGV drivers, sparkys, plumbers, plasterers. I could go on.

There are hotels in the Lake District currently shut as they can’t get the staff.

Theres no growth in “white collar” wages. This is a long overdue realignment in “worth” which is only a good thing.
Fair enough Bbb, but seriously, we have had nearly 6 years to adjust to this reality and our shit show of a government have done nothing to help. The market will work, wages will rise as businesses adapt, just keep the government out of it and let things take their course.

The more the government interferes, the worst the situation gets, at this time we have a 'working' population that would rather stay at home, and get paid, than actually work.

But the Government is involved through the tax and benefits system. Low end wages have been subsidised for years through the tax credit system which has directly subsidised the owners of businesses and worked against investment.

Quite correct and is a travesty, either deliberate laundering of taxpayers money to the 'richer' classes or the usual fuckup of socialist policies designed to help the poor but mostly doing the exact opposite.

In five years time ...... yuh know, like Bowie predicted

Britain could be flourishing as a free and independent country if our government (in the widest sense) had actually done something to make that happen, they did not and have no intention of doing so.

Encouraged by the anti-British remain lobby they have done fuck all to reorganise and lead this country forward, what we are seeing is the effect of government policy to wreck our economy and prove the leave vote to be a mistake.

It is a series of punishment beatings for the working people of this country who dared to defy their 'betters' and vote to get out of the globalist driven car crash that is the EU.

You're coming at this from the wrong angle.

It's not a punishment for the Leave vote, or an attempt to vindicate the Remain vote.

The intention is for things to go awry. Because tons of cash can be made from that.

It's Disaster Capitalism...

You may well be right.

Doesn't mean that you can not get your punishment beatings in too, a little extra on the side if you will. The 'never ending wars' in the Middle East and Africa are a big part of that too, as indeed is 'climate change'.

The whole climate thing is designed to turn the world upside down but it was too slow, it was simply taking too long. So to move things along we got Covid, whether that was organised and deliberate from the start or simply too good an opportunity to waste, I really don't know.

Whichever it is it is hugely successful at what it is required to do and we are still very much at the beginning!

More evidence! Its working!
Warehouse work is hard and does not pay very well. Stay at home and take the handouts.

Out for a stroll this am, along the Quay to see what the pubs are offering for the long weekend. Virtually all the bars and restaurants are advertising for staff, one pub on reduced hours because of it.

People seem to have got out of the habit of working.

People seem to be realising that the people prepared to do those jobs have been told (or made to feel like) they are not welcome in this country.

I wonder how many of the "These foreigners coming over here stealing our jobs" brigade have applied for all these jobs that our available?

Maybe its not about enough people but about enough pay. Ain't that how capitalism works?

That is exactly how capitalism should work. The government sets up a structure that makes exploitation as difficult as possible and sets a level playing field. Thats it.

If you can not get a product to market at a price that people are prepared to pay, you need to look at your business model.
