Brexit and fishing rights.

"Why should the EU allow us to trade with them if, by ignoring any new regulations, we can undercut them?"

That has to be the dumbest, weak-minded, sit on your hands while you piss on 'em through your pink knickers, dumbo question ever asked on here.

Rack Hackney!

They made an almighty stink when the EU put limits on fishing to preserve stock but when the steel plants and other industries close did the government come rushing to help them?

Yet that's the reason the EU gave and Johnson accepted.

Rack?

Rumours flying around of a likely 'Brexit deal'.

Wonder what Johnson is giving away now?
Have you seen something more up to date than 3 hours ago?
All I can see is that it may be agreed this weekend if he backs down over fishing.

Worth it if only to see Mark Francois have another of his moments.

Whatever it takes to help ensure our economy doesn't go completely down the shitter?

Thought the agreement was 'oven ready'.
The only agreement I voted for was WTO.

Once we had established our sovereignty we could come to whatever agreement we liked with any country wishing a sensible trading arrangement.

The UK would have got taken to the cleaners by every large nation. And still may.

The last hour or so hackney.
Rumour only at this stage so might well be bollocks, but the line is that Johnson is giving way on fishing and ECJ.

We shall see.

Would that be 'every large nation' that is actually economically bigger than the uk, all 4 of them?

WTO is in itself an agreement, if the deal does not work for us we do not have to agree to it.

Just cuz it's a dumbass bullshit excuse pushed out for the press and their idiot followers to chow down on, don't mean you've got to be dumb enough to
1. Fall for it.
2. Quote it.

Yeah, Rack Hackney.

Is that why we were begging India for a deal?

UK Trade Agreements Attempted: 59

UK Trade Agreements Reached: 58

Is it really us who is the problem?

Brino.

If we we agree to be subject to eu rules, ie 'the level playing field' regulated by the ECJ and continue to give them money, (along with giving access to our sovereign territory) we have not left.

This appears to be the 'deal' under discussion.

This is vassalage, naturally it will be 'sold' to us as something else entirely.
Great post (y)

But that is exactly what has happened.

We brexited in January. At that point we gained this "sovereignty" that is so important. We have it. It's ours.

Our sovereignty allows us to now strike a trade deal with whoever we so wish. We've been doing it all year with various countries.

And that is what is happening again now....we are (possibly) about to strike a trade deal with the EU on terms that will be agreed by our sovereign government. Noone is forcing us to sign that document (if it happens).

Makes me laugh all this sovereignty bullshit, you're deluding yourselves since ww2 we've been in hock to the yanks and paying a heavy price for all that debt they still tell us what to do re defence and Mcdonalds, Amazon, Starbucks etc all rule our economy,as do lots of foreign firms eg "our" car and steel industry our railways are run by European firms and we've not long sold off a highly successful microchip firm to the Japanese the list is endless . "Rule Brittania, Brittania rules the waves......? Bollocks we do.
Ps forgot, all that Russian Oligarch money Rees-Mogg is busy laundering.

Harwich you really need to move to another country. You’re clearly unhappy here, you despise our systems and are a constant critic of our politics and history. For your own well-being move to somewhere else in the world that shares your values and aspiration.

Disagreeing with brexit is perfectly reasonable. Disliking our political leaders is entirely understandable (who doesn't?) But hoping the EU gets the better of any deal signed, cheering the EU on, and hoping Britain suffers after Brexit is unforgivable. (imho)

Is anyone cheering on the EU?
Calling out Johnson as an idiot doesn't mean people don't want the UK to get the best deal possible. Unfortunately forat least the short term future we will be worse off. Couldn't have come at a worse time.
Chelsea lost though.

I really love the idea that there is no political aspect to the positioning / statements of any of the 27 EU countries :ROFLMAO:

That's a brilliant argument for a dictatorship.

Yeah, fuck off abroad and live with “better” people you whinging tit.

Hackers, we buy more from them than we sell to them. Why would they want to risk losing one of their best customers?

China can undercut most of the western world with cheap labour but we still keep trading with them

Firstly, we are in a transition period. Still paying into the eu, following their rules and subjecting our country to their ECJ.

That does not make us a sovereign country in any way that matters.

Assuming that we do actually 'leave' in a couple of weeks time, still highly unlikely in my view, there is a huge difference between having sovereignty and exercising sovereignty. In 2015/6 the Cameron government promised the latter, but as we now all know, they lied to the people of this country.

This deceit has fucked up any possibility of this country making any sort of a success of Brexit, to the delight of the 'establishment' in all it's forms and hard core retainers who seem quite content to watch the destruction of our country.
