Brexit and fishing rights.

Remainers really do seem to want to make this as difficult as possible.

If, as a country, we stood up for ourselves, offered fair and constructive ideas of how to move forward post Brexit, most of the issues could be solved quite easily.

Starting point would be that of reflecting policy and co-operation. You (the eu) make things easy for us, we make things easy for you, make things difficult for us.....

Make decisions that are clear and transparent, own them and implement them. No fudging or 'wiggle', say what we mean and do what we say.

In the same was as it works now
Your insurance is only valid if your insurance company says it it whether we're in the EU or not
Pet's are not allowed to drive on the wrong side of the road! But I don't know the answer to that if I were to speculate I doubt anything will change for at least a year. Might be best to leave your pet at home (speaking as a non animal lover)

If we followed your advice and quit everything we really would be in the shit for years while the resulting mess was sorted.

See, proved my point in one.

As always with remainers, the focus is on what can't be done, not what can be done.

Seriously SF, you really do sound like one of those people who do who want to see the country 'in the shit' just to prove that you were right.

And you prove my point. It'll all be ok eventually is not a good strategy.

It's because those in charge that promised everything was fine, have actually achieved to-date, the square-root of squat.

So probably best to stop the "you really want us to fail don't you" schtick right now. Because the government's ineptitude won't affect them, but it will affect you, me & most on this board. That's a concern regardless of how you voted in 2016.

That is not my strategy. Mine is the opposite, make some decisions and fucking do something.

That our government has been useless is not in dispute, I admit to being taken in by both Cameron and now Johnson because, slimy and duplicitous as they are, I genuinely did not expect the lies to be of the scale that they are.

We need change on a near revolutionary scale, I very much doubt that we will get it.

I see our security forces are going to have to delete a massive data base of information about foreign criminals on January 1st making it much harder to detect their whereabouts and much slower to detect and prosecute any criminal offences they commit . There are particular worries about internet crime such as child porn and terrorists planning attacks . No doubt Brexiters are delighted as they knew this was what they voted for .

Can you link this please?
Not sure why this would happen but we have been warned in the past that relations between security forces may suffer.

On January 1st, we could actually by a sovereign independent nation.

Cite National security and keep the data.

Incidentally I see the USA are looking to do a mini trade deal with us if we “compromise” on access to aspects of our agricultural market, they will drop tarriffs on scotch whiskey and cashmere wool .That means drop our standards. It’s what happens when you do trade deals . You compromise . This crap about sovereignty is just that - Crap

This is what will open the gates for chlorinated chicken and other crap. The red tape they talked about wanting to be free of included food standards, clean rivers and beaches, and employment rights.

We cant it’s illegal from Jan 1st . We lose it .
So what are they going to do, take us to court? For protecting the people of europeand defending national security.

Are you really suggesting that our eu friends and partners will do this?

If it helps to crack down on eu wide crime, why would anyone want to stop it? Write a new law/agreement.

Or you don't. Our choice.

Christ, this really is not difficult.

Did you read the link from the BBC about leaving 30 or more EU criminal justice bodies?
Read it and see how it works for the US, or doesn't.

eu friends and partners??????
We chose to walk out on them, those partnerships no longer exist.

Even though it was the BBC, I did read it.

The important thing is that it is an arrangement that is of benefit to all sides. Why stop it now?

Re-write the agreement as required and get on with it. Or are you suggesting our friends in the eu are not interested in keeping their people safe and secure?

eu friends and partners??????

We did.

Are you suggesting that warrants putting their own (as well as our) people at risk? Sounds like nice sensible people.

If you read it you'll have seen this:
Some nations, like the USA, have an "associate" relationship with Europol - but can't use all its investigatory powers, and have no say over its objectives and priorities. The UK faces similar questions over its relationship to a second agency, Eurojust, which predominantly links up prosecutors.

Does this include the Portuguese police and those nice Spanish chaps who helped everyone get their footy grounds ?

Once again, more reasons why we can't do something.

If it is in the interests of both the eu and the uk, write an agreement and get on with it. If it protects the law abiding people from serious crime and terrorism why wouldn't you?

So which websites do you trust?
Trust 100% - none.

Why have they not agreed one with the US if it's that easy?
How many other people who voted to leave think along the same lines? Just leave and everything will be perfect, we can have the same trade deals, financial markets won't change, security and transport will continue as before and on top of that we'll be £350m a week better off.

Bit like refusing to buy a season ticket but expecting the same access to away games and home games continuing to be at the same price rather than the walk-up.

Absolute nonsense. My views are pretty much the opposite of what you say, are my postings really that unclear?

The country leaves the eu which puts everything back on us as an independent country. We choose, we decide, we do deals, we refuse to do deals, we own the consequences of our actions.

The fact that our useless government has made no attempts to prepare to leave is criminal, all of this stuff should have been put in place over the last 4-5 years.

What the hell is that nonsense about the season ticket? Why would any sane person think like that?

But we won't have to walk down Raw Dykes road getting cold, wet and thoroughly pissed off ever again
Large part of my childhood that.

My mates dad, who used to take us to the games when we were about 11 or 12 was able to park by the pavilion on the cricket ground (corner of Aylestone and Raw Dykes rd).

Walk down Raw Dykes, Burnmore St and into the ground at the corner of the popular side by the Kop.
