Cricket

Total farce. Barely 2 hours play and the ball is turning square.

Not a contest and a complete waste of time. Channel 4 must be so pissed off.

Does anyone on here think that Stokes got his fingers under the ball?

I can’t say for sure but my gut reaction was out, the constant replays just muddy the water unless there’s more than one angle?

Also, the third ump is not fit for purpose.

No, he just had his fingers on the side of the ball rather than underneath. It did bounce too you could see that.

We really rallied well today with ball in hand, on another day they could be 5 or 6 down by this stage.

Agreed. It’s a tragedy that Ed Smith is ignorant to it.

Better first class batting average than Buttler and wicket keeping on a totally different level
The counter argument is Buttler’s got the ability to get a really decent knock. For me that should come second though, the first job is to keep wicket well.

On the pitch, what was going on when the groundsman came with that square metal tool and started smacking the surface? Surely that’ll do more to break it up than repair it? They realised they needed to prepare dry, dusty wickets that break up easily to have the best chance to beat us after we won the first test match.

Incidentally is there a mat over the wicket they’ll use in the second test? I don’t think there is and I don’t think there was in the first test at Chennai.

The English Cricket team had visited an Orphanage after the second test in Chennai.
"It is so tragic and heartbreaking to see their little faces with no hope! I wish we could do something to help them!"

said 6 year old Venkatswamy after meeting the English Cricket team.

Look at Buttlers test match batting average in over 40 tests. It’s not been good enough to deserve the spot.

What is the point of having the busiest test schedule in the history of cricket if it means we have to rotate our players and never play our best team?

Money presumably
